In a few words

Created in 1999 by Sébastien Hordeaux, PHPEdit is one of the key historic Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for web programming.  Initially distributed freely over the Internet, PHPEdit has rapidly met an incredible success. Months after months, more and more developers were using PHPEdit building a huge community around our PHP IDE achieving over 365,000 users nowadays.

In 2004, thanks to the support and help of John Knipper, Bertrand Dunogier and Daniel Lucazeau, Sébastien founded its own software publishing company: WaterProof SARL and launched the very first commercial version of PHPEdit. Since then and thanks to the efforts of a dedicated, dynamic and highly-talented team, PHPEdit has grown rapidly establishing itself as a key player of the web development sector in particular of the PHP industry. The arrival of Bastien Hoffman has been an important milestone in PHPEdit history being a key ingredient to the acceleration of development.

With now over 12-year experience in the web development and software industry, WaterProof and PHPEdit has managed to establish their presence worldwide, offering innovative software solutions dedicated to help PHP development teams create web applications more productively, rapidly and with pleasure.
